In case of emergency, two of the relievers profiled in the J.J. Putz replacement search had nice nights in an otherwise unremarkable evening down on the farm.

    • Norfolk 7, Charlotte 6
      • Alejandro De Aza went 2-for-5 with a homer, three RBI and two strikeouts.
      • Brent Morel singled, walked and struck out over five trips to the plate.
      • Dayan Viciedo was hitless in five at-bats, striking out twice.
      • Clevelan Santeliz struck out one in a 1-2-3 inning.
    • Tennessee 4, Birmingham 3 (11 innings)
      • Josh Phegley? More like Josh Ugh-ley: 0-for-5, four strikeouts.
      • Christian Marrero drew three walks and struck out once in five PAs.
      • Eduardo Escobar went 2-for-5 with two strikeouts.
      • Charles Leesman met the bare minimum for a quality start: 6 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 3 K.
      • Gregory Infante struck out two in a perfect seventh.
    • Winston-Salem 7, Lynchburg 1
      • Jose Martinez went 1-for-4 with a triple and a walk.
      • Nathan Jones allowed one run over 7 1/3 innings, limiting Lynchburg to three hits and two walks while striking out five.
    • Kannapolis 4, Lexington 1
      • Miguel Gonzalez went 1-for-3.
      • Nick Ciolli and Trayce Thompson both went hitless and struck out twice, but at least Ciolli walked.
      • Justin Collop allowed a run on eight hits and a walk over seven innings, striking out six.
    • Bluefield 7, Bristol 1
      • Daniel Black went 0-for-3 with a walk and two strikeouts.
    • Great Falls 6, Orem 5 (10 innings)
      • Andy Wilkins singled, doubled, walked twice, struck out and drove in two.
      • Ross Wilson went 1-for-3 with a walk.
      • Michael Blanke went 1-for-4 with a double, RBI and strikeout.
