Zack Collins had a big day for the Barons, belting a pair of solo shots along with a single and a walk in five trips to the plate in Birmingham's loss to Montgomery on Sunday. Here's the second one:

Seby Zavala, who was DHing on Sunday, flied out in his only trip to the plate. There didn't seem to be any injury during the sequence (Curt Bloom raised the idea of cramps on a hot, humid afternoon).

At any rate, these two performances brought the catcher battle to a dead heat, at least according to OPS:

    • Collins: .244/.421/.456, .876 OPS
    • Zavala: .256/.358/.519, .877 OPS

That's a remarkable turn of events for Collins given the disparity at the end of April:

    • Collins: .206/.393/.365, .758 OPS
    • Zavala: .315/.411/.616, 1.028 OPS
