Followed-from-work bullet-point recap:
*Jose Berrios dominated the White Sox the last time they met, and he was nearly as daunting this time around. The Twins offense gave him a big lead, and he carried it across the finish line for a complete-game victory.
*Berrios retired the first 14 he faced, and when Omar Narvaez broke up the perfect game bid with a ground-rule double, he ended up getting thrown out at home by Eddie Rosario on Jose Rondon's subsequent single to left.
*Ultimately, the damage was limited to just a pair of RBI doubles by Yoan Moncada and Jose Abreu in the sixth inning.
*Narvaez reached base again with a drive to the wall in the seventh, but Robbie Grossman threw him out at second as Narvaez's rough slide into second didn't give him a way to hook the bag. The last seven White Sox were retired in order.
*The Twins offense had fewer problems with James Shields. Rosario and Eduardo Escobar continued terrorizing the Sox, teaming up for a double and a homer in the first inning. Ehire Adrianza tagged Shields for a solo shot in the second, as the homers started to pile up on Shields.
*Then the lucky hits arrived. Two consecutive poked singles to the right side first-to-thirded runners and made it a 4-0 game, before Rosario went deep again to make it 7-0. The four-run inning all started after Shields retired the first two batters.
*Shields did last six innings despite the early problems, so Rick Renteria only needed to use two relievers.
*Xavier Cedeno made his White Sox debut and walked the first man he faced, but erased him with a 4-6-3 double play en route to a scoreless inning.
*Daniel Palka had a rough day, going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts. Moncada, conversely bounced back from his golden sombrero with a strikeout-free game.
