Who will fill Charlie Tilson shoes and overly large hat?

Wednesday's news and notes:

*Charlie Tilson was optioned to Charlotte, as it looks like Nicky Delmonico is making his return from the disabled list. Tilson batted .264/.331/.292 with a triple, a double and 26 singles over 121 plate appearances in his first extended MLB action.

*Ryan Cordell began his rehab stint with the AZL White Sox as he tries to come back from a broken collarbone.

*Konnor Pilkington made his pro debut with the AZL White Sox, and it was a rough one.

Charlotte 3, Pawtucket 0

    • Jose Rondon went 1-for-4 with his 10th homer and a strikeout.
    • Eloy Jimenez, 0-for-4 with a strikeout.
    • Spencer Adams continues to get results without strikeouts: 6 IP, 6 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 2 K
    • Thyago Vieira: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K

Birmingham 9, Jackson 8

    • Joel Booker went 1-for-4 with a double, sac fly and two strikeouts.
    • Luis Alexander Basabe returned from the Futures Game, going 1-for-3 with a homer, two walks and a strikeout.
    • Zack Collins went 1-for-3 with two walks and a strikeout.
    • Danny Mendick, 2-for-5 with two doubles and a strikeout.
    • Alex Call, 1-for-3 with a double and a walk.
    • Jameson Fisher singled, walked and struck out twice.
    • Alec Hansen: 5 IP, 3 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 6 BB, 3 K, 45 of 83 pitches for strikes.
    • Ryan Burr picked up the win by striking out the only batter he faced.

Carolina 5, Winston-Salem 3

    • Luis Gonzalez went 1-for-2 with and triple and an HBP.
    • Laz Rivera, 2-for-3 with a double and an HBP. He also stole a base.
    • Blake Rutherford went 0-for-4.
    • Gavin Sheets, 0-for-4 with two strikeouts.
    • John Parke: 6 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 6 K, 1 HR, 1 WP

Great Falls 9, Orem 4

    • Lenyn Sosa went 3-for-5 with a walk.
    • Corey Zangari blasted off again, going 2-for-5 with two homers and two strikeouts.
    • Amado Nuneez was 3-for-4 with a double.
    • Gunnar Troutwine, 0-for-5 with a strikeout.
    • Jonathan Stiever: 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K

AZL D-backs 10, AZL White Sox 4

    • Camilo Quintero went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts.
    • Brayant Nova replaced him and went 0-for-2 with a K.
    • Luis Mieses went 1-for-5 with a homer.
    • Ryan Cordell singled and struck out twice in his first rehab appearance.
    • Steele Walker singled both times up.
    • Anderson Comas replaced him and was 0-for-3 with two strikeouts.
    • Lency Delgado, 1-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout.
    • Harvin Mendoza, 0-for-4.
    • Bryce Bush went 2-for-4 with a homer, as the AZL team doubled its dinger total in a night.
    • Cabera Weaver, 0-for-1 with an HBP.
    • Josue Guerrero doubled and struck out.
    • Konnor Pilkington's debut: 1 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 0 K
