Since they're limited to bonuses of $300,000 for one more international signing period due to the Luis Robert bonus blowout, the White Sox went back to trading the money they can't use for arms of interest.

On Sunday, they dealt $1.5 million of pool money to the New York Yankees for 25-year-old left-handed reliever Caleb Frare.

Frare's had a nice season at Double-A Trenton, posting a 0.62 ERA with just 43 baserunners allowed (25 hits, 15 walks, three HBPs) to 57 strikeouts over 43⅔ innings. He gave up a run in his only appearance at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He's dominant against lefties, but he's also holding righties to a .568 OPS.

James Fegan provided a thumbnail sketch:

It wouldn't surprise me if he saw time in Chicago in September, as he'll have to added to the 40-man roster over the winter regardless if the Sox want to protect him from the Rule 5 draft.
