Alec Hansen finally had his first Alec Hansen-like start of the 2018 season. Coming into Sunday, he had a 7.71 ERA, but more specifically concerning was the 16 walks in 16⅓ innings.
Against Mississippi, Hansen threw six innings of one-run ball, with the damage coming on a solo homer. He allowed just three other hits, and just one other walk, while striking out five.
The report from 2080baseball.com's John Eshleman was that Hansen still isn't at the height of his powers, but this time had different ways to get to the strike zone:
