While Zack Burdi has drawn most of the attention among the White Sox' Arizona Fall League representatives due to his lagging velocity, the club's other pitchers have had a pretty nice go of it as the season nears its halfway point.
*Tanner Banks is surviving as a strike-throwing lefty, posting a 2.87 ERA over 15⅔ innings. He's allowed 19 hits while only striking out seven, but a piddly two walks helps. So do three unearned runs, I suppose. He's now surpassed 160 innings this season.
*Danny Dopico gave up all three of his runs in his first two outings. Over his last five? 7 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 4 BB, 12 K.
*Zach Thompson has a claim as the Desert Dogs' most effective pitcher in any role, having allowed just one run over eight innings on five hits and a walk against 12 strikeouts. This comes after a strong season out of the bullpen with Winston-Salem and Birmingham, so he's made himself compelling when 40-man roster conversations arise.
