White Sox Minor Keys: June 15, 2019

Saturday was was not a fun one from the White Sox' right-handed pitching depth.

Injured: Jimmy Lambert

Lambert, who hadn't started since a third consecutive subpar outing on June 3, has been on the shelf with a strained right forearm. The White Sox said he'll be reevaluated in the coming weeks.

Gone: Jordan Stephens

The White Sox tried to sneak him through waivers, but Cleveland ended up claiming him. Stephens plateaued as a starter in Charlotte during the second half of his 2018 season, then missed time early before coming back as a reliever. The performance hadn't rebounded, but FanGraphs says his velocity is back, so we might not have seen the last of him.

What the hell: Alec Hansen

Hansen made his first start of the 2019 season Saturday night, and he probably shouldn't have. See below.

Jacksonville 5, Birmingham 3

    • Luis Robert and Nick Madrigal both were 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout.
    • Luis Gonzalez and Gavin Sheets both were 1-for-4 with a K.
    • Luis Basabe went 2-for-4 with his first homer and a double.
    • Blake Rutherford was 1-for-4 with a triple.
    • Laz Rivera went 0-for-2 with a walk and a stolen base.
    • Alec Hansen's first start was disastrous: 0.1 IP, 1 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 5 BB, 0 K, 15 of 37 pitches for strikes.
    • Kodi Medeiros: 4.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 4 BB, 6 K
    • Zack Burdi: 1 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 WP

Carolina 4, Winston-Salem 2

    • Steele Walker followed up his cycle with a 2-for-4 night, striking out once.
    • Carlos Perez was 0-for-4.
    • Konnor Pilkington: 6 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 7 K, 1 WP

Greensboro 4, Kannapolis 0

    • Romy Gonzalez and Bryce Bush were both 0-for-4 with two strikeouts.
    • Amado Nunez went 1-for-3 with a strikeout.
    • Luis Curbelo singled and struck out twice.
    • Jhandro Alfaro was 0-for-2 with a K.
    • Jonathan Stiever: 5 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 5 K, 1 HR

Great Falls 5, Missoula 3

    • Cabera Weaver, Kelvin Maldonado and Lency Delgado all were 1-for-4 with a K.
    • So was Anderson Comas, who was caught stealing.
    • Harvin Mendoza went 1-for-3 with a homer and an HBP.
    • Sam Abbott went 1-for-2 with a double and a walk.
    • Camilo Quinteiro single and struck out twice.
    • Ramon Pineda: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K

DSL Reds 7, DSL White Sox 5

    • Anthony Espinoza went 0-for-5 with a strikeout.
    • Benyamin Bailey was 1-for-5 with a K.
    • Alberto Bernal, 1-for-4 with a walk and two strikeouts.
    • Jefferson Mendoza pinch-hit and struck out.
