White Sox Minor Keys: June 3, 2019

Justin Yurchak

While Yonder Alonso spent the first two months of the season wallowing below the Mendoza Line, at least the misery wasn't compounded by the other side of the trade, because Alex Call hadn't played in a recorded game all the while.

Call finally surfaced with Double-A Akron this past weekend, so now we can occasionally monitor him to see if he applies any pressure. He's 4-for-12 with a walk and three strikeouts over his first three games.

Three games is more action than either of the other low-level prospects the White Sox dealt have seen this year. Yordi Rosario (Iván Nova) has yet to pitch for the Pirates, although he's likely to be on the short-season/rookie-league plan, as he only got his first exposure to stateside ball last season. Justin Yurchak (Manny Bañuelos) doesn't have that excuse, but the Dodgers haven't added him to a full-season affiliate at any point this season, either.

And speaking of the Dodgers, Jake Peter is batting .155/.328/.289 for Triple-A Oklahoma City in 38 games this year.
