White Sox Prospects

White Sox Minor Keys: July 19, 2019

Baseball America delivered its post-draft update of all its prospect lists, and as you might expect from a farm system that's suddenly become quite top-heavy, there's good news and bad news.

What's good:

*Luis Robert has ascended from the No. 76 prospect preseason to third overall, just behind Tampa Bay's Wander Franco and the Angels' Jo Adell.

*Andrew Vaughn (24) ranks ahead of Dylan Cease (31), Michael Kopech (33) and Nick Madrigal (59), giving the Sox a strong core on the top-100 list.

What's not great:

*Matthew Thompson and Andrew Dalquist rank sixth and seventh on the White Sox top 30, which is one slot ahead of where I placed them half-jokingly on my knee-jerk midseason update.

*Luis Gonzalez ranks 10th, and he's hitting .239/.299/.344 at Birmingham.

That top 10, for posterity:

    1. Luis Robert
    2. Andrew Vaughn
    3. Dylan Cease
    4. Michael Kopech
    5. Nick Madrigal
