*The White Sox took three out of four in Detroit, and went three-for-three in games started by regular members of their rotation. They outhit the Tigers 15-6 in this one, and in a pretty astounding stat, went the entire four-game series without a 1-2-3 inning.
*Tim Anderson, Jose Abreu and James McCann did the heavy lifting, combining for 10 of said 15 hits.
*Anderson went 4-for-4 with his first walk drawn from a non-position-player pitcher since May 23 (Roman Quinn walked him in the 15-inning game in Philadelphia). He scored three runs.
*Abreu and McCann each had three hits apiece, including a double.
*Ryan Cordell had the biggest hit of them all in terms of distance, a 450-foot shot that cleared the bullpens in left center off Tyler Alexander in the second inning.
*The White Sox were 6-for-13 with runners in scoring position.
*Iván Nova lowered his ERA into the 4's with eight easy, breezy shutout innings. He walked more (three) than he struck out (one), but he also induced three double plays.
*Ron Gardenhire used Brandon Dixon to pitch in the ninth. He recorded a scoreless inning, although he plunked Cordell with two outs to keep the Sox' base-reaching streak alive.
*Jimmy Cordero lost the shutout in the ninth, giving up a walk and a triple. Sleeve discomfort may have contributed to the issue.
