Sporcle Saturday: 2+ win center fielders

I noticed on Baseball Reference that today is the anniversary of Kenny Lofton signing with the Sox in 2002. Though Lofton's premier days were behind him I remember at the time being happy the White Sox signed him, and in his short time at 35th and Shields (traded to the Giants at the deadline that year), he more or less produced: 34 extra-base hits, 22 stolen bases (his 500th of his career came with the team), and 2 WAR over 93 games. Not too shabby for the 35-year-old Chicago native!

While I would happily take 2 wins (though hopefully a lot more power) in the first half for Luis Robert during his rookie year, today's Sporcle asks you to name the Sox center fielders who logged at least 2 WAR over an entire season. In franchise history, that's 60 entries: how many can you get? Good luck!

Quiz Parameters

    • I've allotted 10 minutes for completion attempts.
    • To qualify, a player must have played at least 70% of their games in center field, and logged at least 2 bWAR.
    • For hints, I've provided the season and the bWAR.

Useless information to amaze, annoy, confuse, and/or confound your friends and family:

    • The highest WAR logged by a player on this list came in 1966, 6.4.
    • Mickey Mantle and Ty Cobb hold the highest WAR in a season for a center fielder, each logging 11.3. (Though Mantle did it in back-to-back seasons in '56 and '57.)
    • Somehow, Nate McLouth managed to log -2.7 WAR in 85 games for the Pirates in 2010.
