Minor league relievers are hard to track, but it's something that's more worth doing than it used to be. While most MLB relievers are made, not born, it's harder to know where they're going to be made, because bullpens no longer comprise failed starters by default.
The White Sox juggled some of their minor-league relievers over the last few days, resulting in the promotions of couple guys who have warranted mention over the first couple installments of Farm Fortnight (which are exclusive to Sox Machine supporters on Patreon).
*Ofreidy Gómez headed from Birmingham to Charlotte on Saturday after overmatching Double-A hitters over the season's first months. He racked up 24 strikeouts against six hits and seven walks over 16⅔ innings, going from multi-inning relief to save situations. He threw mid-90s when I saw him, but the swings weren't convincing.
*Lane Ramsey went from Winston-Salem to Birmingham after striking out 13 baserunners to just 10 baserunners over 11 innings with the Dash. Kade McClure now has somebody to look up to, because Ramsey is the tallest player in the White Sox system at 6-9.
Going in the other direction, Felix Paulino was demoted to Birmingham to spite James Fegan, Tyler Johnson had his rehab stint shifted from Winston-Salem to Kannapolis, and Jacob Lindgren was released after walking 15 batters over eight innings with the Knights.
