Two days after floating his retirement, Yermín Mercedes was back in the Charlotte lineup on Friday, serving as the DH and batting cleanup.
Had he not created a social media furor for 24 hours, you wouldn't know anything had happened. Mercedes went 2-for-4 with a no-doubt homer, helping the Knights snap an 11-game losing streak with a 4-0 victory at Durham.
