When we saw that Caberea Weaver had received a promotion to Winston-Salem, it stood to reason that Kannapolis would receive an outfielder from the Arizona Complex League to fill the role.
That outfielder is Misael Gonzalez. The 12th-round draft pick out of Puerto Rico who had a nondescript performance in his pro debut in the AZL in 2019 (.194/.246/.237) put himself on the low-level radar with a torrid stretch in the ACL this year. He hit .311/.393/.595 over 21 games, and that includes a 2-for-17 start to his season.
Gonzalez wasted little time getting acclimated in A-ball. He homered in his first at-bat.
