It seemed like the White Sox called up Romy González to see whether there was a chance he could provide right-handed outfield depth while Andrew Vaughn and Adam Engel were on the injured list. MLB pitching proved to be a little more than he could handle, at least right now, as he struck out in 11 of his 33 plate appearances while hitting .250/.273/.344.
That, González is still playing for a roster spot with the White Sox regardless of whether he's in Chicago or Charlotte, and he's picked up where he left off with his first two games back at Triple-A. He went 2-for-3 with a walk against Norfolk on Friday, and he followed it up by going 3-for-5 with a double and two stolen bases on Saturday.
There was a third instance of swiping 90 feet, although it only shows up in the box score as a run. That said, it won the game, as he tagged up from third on a foul ball down the line.
