Sporcle Saturday: Extra base hits

Good morning!

Perusing White Sox team statistics yesterday, for the first time I noticed that Jose Abreu reached his usual offensive mark over the course of the 2021 season despite a slow start: more than 60 extra base hits. Abreu has been the model of consistency in that category, posting at least 60 XBHs in a season during his White Sox tenure in every season save 2016 and 2018, and even in those seasons he finished just shy of the milestone. (Well, and the shortened 2020 season, though he still managed to log 34)

Today, we'll celebrate the achievement by trying to guess the other members of the White Sox 60 extra base hit club: in franchise history there have been 77 player seasons to accomplish this. How many can you name? Good luck!

Quiz Parameters

    • I've allotted 10 minutes for completion attempts.
    • For hints, I've provided the number of XBHs, season, and position.

Useless information to amaze, annoy, confuse, and/or confound your friends and family:

    • Abreu is fifth in franchise history for extra base hits, with 507.
    • Since coming into the league in 2014, Abreu's 507 XBHs is good for third-most behind J.D. Martinez (511) and Nolan Arenado (552).
    • The single-season record holder in extra-base hits in MLB is Babe Ruth, on the strength of 119 in 1921.
