Clemson University is hiring Michigan head coach Erik Bakich to run its baseball program, the rumor mill for his replacement immediately snared a couple of Chrises.
One is Chris Fetter, the former Michigan pitching coach whom A.J. Hinch hired to serve in the same role for the Detroit Tigers.
The other is Michigan alum Chris Getz:, who is currently the White Sox's assistant GM and in charge of player development.
Morosi is Michigan-based, and with "could" being so prominently involved, my guess is that he's more playing word association with Wolverines in MLB leadership roles than any kind of scoop. But in the event he's on to something, it's worth keeping the lightest of tabs on this vacancy.

- Adam Haseley was 2-for-5 with a double and a strikeout.
- Carlos Pérez returned to the lineup, going 1-for-4 with a walk.
- Gavin Sheets recovered from his rough game Tuesday, going 2-for-3 with a double and two walks.
- Yolbert Sánchez was 0-for-5, but his hard grounder that beat the drawn-in infield for the game-winning run was ruled an error.
