One current White Sox prospect and one former White Sox prospect both received monthly honors on Friday.
*Lenyn Sosa was named the Southern League's Player of the Month. He also made the FutureSox Team of the Month for May, and you can read about his body of work there. I'm just happy my story about his hot start didn't jinx him.
PERTINENT: Lenyn Sosa is breaking out in Birmingham while reining it in
*Luis Gonzalez was named the National League Rookie of the Month for May, and he's now hitting .324/.361/.454 over 119 plate appearances on the season. There appears to be quite a bit of luck on his side, although the Giants get such good results from unheralded players that one can't quite write it off as completely random.
Either way, I'll point to this 2018 FutureSox roundtable where I expressed more enthusiasm about Gonzalez than Jake Burger and Gavin Sheets, the two guys picked before him.
