Following up on an open-ended question from last week, it sounds like Sean Burke won't spend all that much time on the developmental list.
Jeff Cohen talked to Knights manager Justin Jirschele, who said Burke was placed on the modern DL in order to give him "an extended breather" between starts, and that he's expected to start Sunday.
Given that Burke's appearance on April 18 was his only outing so far, I still want to see if the Sox used the break to clean up anything mechanically.
Jirschele also said that Davis Martin was also undergoing a similar workload-management rest. That one's a little bit easier to take at face value, since Martin has pitched at least five innings in all three starts, and has to prepare as though he'll be pitching a six-month season.
