Last Sunday's delightful rout of the Cincinnati Reds saw Andrew Vaughn accomplish something that was only done by one Sox player all of last season: hit a double and a triple in the same game.
While this likely says more about the recent organizational conditioning of the players/#SoxMorgue, I was curious to see just how often batters for the Sox have done this in previous seasons. As you might expect, it really does seem to vary: the average age of the players on the roster plays a role as do their physical attributes, but I'd imagine luck plays a factor, too. The success of the team that season certainly doesn't matter as the 2005 squad had just one guy do it, while the 2018 iteration had four players.
At any rate, today's Sporcle is asking you to identify those players who have accomplished this feat, dating back to 1980. In all, there are 169 entries: how many can you name? Good luck!
