Sean Burke hadn't pitched since June 10, and it appears that he'll miss at least another turn, as the Charlotte Knights put him on the injured list this week.
The start of Burke's season was delayed by a shoulder issue, and he took a turn on the developmental list after his first start. But he then made seven consecutive starts on schedule, and while the numbers remained ugly, he showed steady progress in terms of in-game stamina and control.
Alas, his season is back on pause with a 7.61 ERA, and 27 walks against 34 strikeouts over 36⅔ innings. Between his struggles staying healthy and Davis Martin's Tommy John surgery, it's going to require some imagination to restock the White Sox rotation if Lucas Giolito, Lance Lynn and Mike Clevinger all aren't a part of it.
