It turns out José Rodríguez did not enjoy the same experience as Lenyn Sosa in his surprise promotion to the White Sox from Birmingham.
Rodríguez's only appearance was a pinch runner, and while he came around to score, he did not log a plate appearance, or any time in the field.
Also unlike Sosa, it wasn't a circuitous way to bump Rodríguez up to Charlotte. Instead, Rodríguez returned to the Barons, where he appeared to be no worse for the wear. He went 3-for-5, and one of those hits was his 10th homer of the season.
