Noah Schultz once again threw two scoreless innings, and he once again finished with a pitch count just shy of 30.

Schultz's second professional appearance on Friday wasn't quite as impressive as his debut last week, because he didn't have a swing-and-miss breaking ball working. It didn't really matter, because his two-seamer was enough to keep the Lynchburg lineup in check over two perfect innings.

The strikeout column is the only thing that looks markedly different start to start:

June 2: 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K, 22 of 29 pitches for strikes
June 9: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K, 20 of 29 pitches for strikes.

Schultz had a max pitch count of 35 according to Kannapolis broadcaster Dan Helotie, so there is a little room to throw more, and I'm curious to see when and how the White Sox try ramping up the intensity. If the Sox want him to get up and down, then Kannapolis probably the best place for that, but in terms of feedback from hitters, I can't imagine many Low-A types have a lot of experience picking up stuff like Schultz's, and from a release point like Schultz's.

Oscar Colás went 2-for-5 with a strikeout.
So did Carlos Pérez, who doubled.

Birmingham 5, Chattanooga 2

José Rodríguez went 2-for-5 with a double and as tolen base.
Alsander Womack was 0-for-5 with two strikeouts.
Yoelqui Céspedes, 2-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base.
Luis Mieses struck out twice during an 0-for-4 night.
Tommy Sommer: 7 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 4 K, 1 HR

Bowling Green 10, Winston-Salem 8

Terrell Tatum walked four times, struck out once and stole a base.
Loidel Chapelli was 0-for-5 with two strikeouts.
Wilfred Veras, 1-for-4 with a walk and two strikeouts.
Wes Kath went 0-for-2 with two walks.
