While Northwestern made national headlines for firing Pat Fitzgerald due to toxic culture issues in the football program, Northwestern's baseball program is in the midst of turmoil-fueled turnover, firing coach Jim Foster after one year due to abusive behavior.
I mention this here for two reasons:
No. 1: The interim head coach is Brian Anderson. Yes, that Brian Anderson.
No. 2: Jon Morosi says Northwestern is interested in candidates with MLB ties, including Chris Getz.
Normally when an NCAA program poaches a well-regarded coach from the professional ranks, that team feels the absence. I'm not certain that would be the case here.

- Yoán Moncada started his rehab stint, going 1-for-2 while playing third base.

- Abraham Nunez went 1-for-4 with a strikeout, and was picked off/caught stealing.
- Stiven Flores is now hitting .448 after going 3-for-4 with a double.
- D'Angelo Tejada went 1-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout.
- Rafael Alvarez was 1-for-3 with a walk.
- Juan Uribe Jr. struck out all three times up.
