Noah Schultz took the mound for the first time in 2½ weeks, but lightning limited to him to only two innings, and easy ones at that.

Schultz threw just 17 pitches over two innings to the Fayetteville Woodpeckers, 15 for strikes. He gave up a couple of deep-ish flyballs, but otherwise faced no trouble before a lightning delay forced him to sit for an hour.

He's now up to nine one-hit innings on the year, but after throwing 45 pitches his previous outing and then missing scheduled turns, he could've stood a little bit tougher of a test to put him on a steeper trajectory.

Speaking of building up, Garrett Crochet is back at Birmingham starting a rehab stint for his shoulder issue.
