I'm wondering if we'll see some of the White Sox organization's shortstops shift once Jacob Gonzalez is introduced into the fold, because right now, there are some severe overperformances at High-A and Double-A.
Down in Winston-Salem, Colson Montgomery improved two-thirds of his line to .455/.633/.697 after going 2-for-4 with his second homer and a hit-by-pitch. (His OBP actually took a hit because he only reached base three out of five times.)
And there's probably room for him at Birmingham, because José Rodríguez is hitting .304/.327/.588 since the start of June. If you're looking for a wart here, he's gone 73 plate appearances since his last walk. But he's also struck out just 11 times over that stretch, so it's partially the result of his abilities to put the ball in play.
