With the White Sox opening the second half of the season with nine consecutive games, the club hasn't gotten the opportunity to officially introduce its first-round pick, Jacob Gonzalez. Usually it involves something like a batting practice session, the first pitch, meeting with the media and interviews in the TV and radio booths before he's sent on his way to his first affiliate.
The White Sox should be able to stage all ceremony this week, with two games against the Cubs and four against the Guardians. Meanwhile, every pick aside from 12th-rounder Mathias LaCombe has signed, and there's a valid excuse. James Fox says LaCombe will be flying in from France on Tuesday to complete the set.
