The White Sox placed Noah Schultz on the injured list with shoulder impingement on Sunday, and while they said there were no long-term concerns, he'll be on the shelf for a couple of weeks. That remains bad news, because there are only three weeks left in the season.
Schultz has only accrued 27 innings over 10 starts, and while those innings have been impressive for a guy making his professional debut in A-ball at 19 -- 38 strikeouts against 24 baserunners and a 1.33 ERA -- the light workload would knock it down to a qualified success. Schultz didn't log any action during last year's regular season, injuries will have bookended both ends of this one, as he missed the first couple of months with a forearm strain.
