Major League Baseball will not alter the pitching clock for the postseason, but Minor League Baseball will, at least at the Triple-A level.
Starting Sept. 5, the Triple-A pitch clock will be set at 17 seconds between every pitch, rather than 14 seconds with the bases empty and 19 pitches with men on. The shift is a response to feedback from hitters who said the five-second difference disrupted their pre-pitch routines. This doesn't seem like a rule that will go into effect between now and the end of the MLB season, but it could be something the league adopts next season.
