And then there were two White Sox affiliates left to cover.
The Winston-Salem Dash and Kannapolis Cannon Ballers wrapped up their seasons on Sunday, both with losses that are a little too characteristic for the system as a whole.
The Dash finished the season 60-66, but 26-37 in the second half. The Ballers also ate into the cushion they built for themselves in the first half, but they managed to eke out a 67-64 record at the end of it all despite being 32-34 after the break. They'll have the system's most enviable record adjusted for level, especially when Birmingham and Charlotte wrap up.
What's most notable is that the three teenagers the White Sox put on Kannapolis' development list late last month -- George Wolkow, Ryan Burrowes and Ronny Hernandez -- never appeared in a game. There's nothing wrong with that, because it'd be on the aggressive side if any of those players opened 2024 in Kannapolis, so practicing with the team and taking in games up close is probably experience enough. I'm just tying up a loose end, because we hadn't seen the White Sox use the development list like that, and now we have.
