Instead of watching the White Sox slog their way to their first series victory in 12 tries, I went to the Nashville Sounds game to bid farewell to the minor league season.
The Charlotte Knights were able to wrap up their season with a win, so they finished the season at 52-96. The Arizona Fall League begins next week. In between, I'll be finishing up the affiliate season reviews while waiting for Baseball America to post the gory details of the organizational win-loss records.
Memphis 7, Charlotte 3 (Saturday)
- José Rodríguez went 2-for-4 with a homer and a strikeout.
- Adam Hackenberg and Oscar Colás both were 0-for-4 with a K.
- Yoelqui Céspedes went 2-for-4 with a strikeout, and was caught stealing.
Charlotte 8, Memphis 2 (Sunday)
- José Rodríguez went 2-for-5.
- Adam Hackenberg, 1-for-5.
- Yoelqui C'éspedes went 1-for-4.
- Nick Nastrini was perfect: 5 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K, 49 of 69 pitches for strikes.
