Two 2023 draft picks who were conspicuously absent from the Opening Day rosters joined full-season affiliates on Tuesday.
Fourth-round pick Calvin Harris made his High-A debut with Winston-Salem. He'd hit .241/.362/.315 over 30 games with Kannapolis last season, drawing 20 walks against 23 strikeouts. If Ole Miss teammate Jacob Gonzalez could get bumped ahead to the Dash with his 2023 performance, so could Harris. Besides, with Ronny Hernandez getting most of the starts behind the plate with Kannapolis, Winston-Salem needed an everyday catcher more.
Eighth-round pick Eddie Park returned to Kannapolis after hitting .333/.426/.383 over 21 games in his professional debut last season, with a minor elbow injury getting in the way. There isn't much blocking his path to Winston-Salem if he picks up where he left off.
Now, onto the box scores of the first 4-0 night for the White Sox farm system this season.

Notes:
*McDougal completed five innings for the first time in his career, although he gave up the three runs in his final inning of work.
It's a Tanner Tuesday in Winston-Salem. McDougal goes 5 innings and allows 3R on 5H and 1BB. He strikes out a career high 9 on 52/78. I would have to research, but that has to be his highest strike % in his #WhiteSox career. #Dash pic.twitter.com/oMCGMFfk28
