Sox Machine Event: Milwaukee Tailgate co-hosted by FromThe108 & Chicago Sports Bums

Logo promoting Milwaukee Tailgate 2024 hosted by Sox Machine, FromThe108, and Chicago Sports Bums

Sox Machine will be co-hosting two fan community events this summer, starting with a tailgate in Milwaukee along with our friends FromThe108 and Chicago Sports Bums. Our second event will be the annual road trip with FromThe108 visiting Kansas City, July 19 - 21, 2024. More details to come about that event.

For Milwaukee, a reminder on a key dates and times:

  • Game Date: Saturday, June 1st
  • Game Time: 3:10 PM CT
  • Parking Lot Opens / Tailgating Begins: 12:10 PM CT
  • What sections did Sox Machine/FromThe108/Chicago Sports Bums buy tickets in so I can get a selfie?: Section 107

Hopefully, you have already bought tickets for the game. In case you haven't, the Chicago White Sox and Milwaukee Brewers just released a ticket package for Season Ticket Holders. Here is the link to those packages: https://fevo-enterprise.com/group/24cwssth .

You can also check out Sox Machine Podcast sponsor, Gametime. Using our promo code SOXMACHINE will save $20 off your first purchase. Link to purchase tickets for Saturday, June 1 here.

Tailgate Sponsor: Pilot Project Brewing

Helping our tailgate by suppling delicious beer will be Pilot Project Brewing. They have two locations in Chicago and Milwaukee, and as a brewery incubator, it's a great opportunity to enjoy upcoming beers that will soon hit the market.

BUYING PARKING PASSES

Last time we had this tailgate in Milwaukee, we were in the YOUNT LOT. I suspect that will be the same lot we'll be in but unfortunately we won't know until pulling up. Great news, it's the same cost whether we are in the UECKER or YOUNT LOT. Buying parking in advance and having that pass ticket on your phone will be $15 (Day of is $20).

You can buy your $15 parking ticket here (SELECT GENERAL PARKING)

PRE-GAMING THE PRE-GAME HOSTED BY FROMTHE108 AT CITY LIGHTS BREWING

Date: June 1, 2024
Time: 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Venue: City Lights Brewing
Address: 2200 W Mt Vernon Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53233

Before the parking lots open, FromThe108 fellas are hosting a rendezvous hangout for those just getting into Milwaukee or that want to get the party started before the actual party. This is a great staging area to create a caravan to park together as a group when the lots open.

TAILGATE COOKIN' PROVIDED BY CHICAGO SPORTS BUMS

If you have ever been to a Whiskey at Comiskey Tailgate hosted by the Bums, you know they can cook. Their team will be grilling hot dogs and smoked pulled pork sandwiches.

I'll start with saying ice. Always need more ice to help cool drinks.

Please do not be afraid to bring your own drinks. We'll have multiple coolers and drink totes where you can stash your (prefer) canned beverages. If you want to buy a 12-pack of beer or High Noon's to donate to the cause, well we'd appreciate the heck out of you.

Other stuff we could use:

  • Buns: Hot Dog and Hamburgers
  • Chips (Please note that dips, especially the dairy kind, are pretty risky as they sit in the sun for 3 hours)
  • Cookies / Desserts
  • Paper Products (Napkins, Plates)
  • Bottled Water

MILWAUKEE TAILGATE SHIRTS

The Bums have created a shirt for the tailgate to help pay for food they will be grilling up. You can purchase your Milwaukee Tailgate Shirt here: https://chisportsbums.bigcartel.com/product/limited-edition-milwaukee-road-trip-tailgate-tee

FINAL NOTE

There's a lot of excitement for this tailgate and we are stoked, too. Please keep in mind if you are the one driving to the event be responsible when drinking. A three hour tailgate plus a baseball game can be quite devastating to the liver. We do not want anyone to get a DUI ticket, or worse, after the game.

Jim Margalus is flying up to join us, and who knows, maybe James Fegan stops by after pregame duties. We look forward to seeing everyone in Milwaukee!
