For those who were naturally worried when Drew Thorpe was removed from his previous start after just two-thirds of an inning, his outing against Chattanooga on Saturday night should relieve some concerns, because it might've shown what Thorpe was capable of were he just able to get that third out.

Thorpe once again struggled in the first on Saturday, loading the bases on a single and a pair of walks, with an Edgar Quero throwing error complicating matters in the middle. But on his 31st pitch of the inning, he got Jack Rogers to ground out to second, which allowed him to get back to the dugout without a manager escort.

When he came back out, he threw another 4 ⅔ scoreless innings to lead the Barons to a 2-0 shutout of the Lookouts. He ran his record to 6-1 while lowering his ERA to 1.50, so that's a strong start in making his dud against Pensacola look every bit the aberration.
