White Sox Minor Keys: June 16, 2024

Durham Bulls Athletic Park (Jim Margalus / Sox Machine)

Two White Sox affiliates marked Father's Day in style Sunday:

The Charlotte Knights threw a combined no-hitter against Durham with a cast of thousands. OK, it seven, but that was still enough to set an International League record, and tie the most pitchers used in a no-hitter since 2005.

It was a memorable Triple-A debut for Garrett Schoenle, who started the effort with three hitless innings. It was also a memorable way for Chuckie Robinson to commemorate being added to the 40-man roster, as the White Sox's formal third catcher caught the whole thing. The accounting of the afternoon:

  1. Garrett Schoenle: Nine outs
  2. Fraser Ellard: Four outs
  3. Jordan Leasure: Two outs
  4. Joe Barlow: Two outs
  5. Sammy Peralta: Four outs
  6. Deivi García: Four outs
  7. Adisyn Coffey: Three outs

Three levels down, the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers clinched a playoff spot for the first time since 2018 with a 6-0 shutout of Delmarva. They're up 4½ games on Columbia with four games to play, as the standings reset on Friday.
