When the next week of minor league action opens, at least three White Sox prospects will be plying their trades at new affiliates.
George Wolkow will be heading to Kannapolis, according to James Fox. The Downers Grove native hit .333/.433/.561 over 67 plate appearances in the Arizona Complex League, although he also struck out 26 times. Some of that K-rate was frontloaded, but he also closed out his ACL portion of the season with a pair of 0-for-4, three-strikeout games. It could be an ambitious assignment for the rest of the season, but it'll probably be more instructive, because he won't be able to count on rolling a .586 BABIP in Low-A.
Ryan Galanie is on the way to Winston-Salem, according to Dan Victor. He hit .346/.432/.582 over 176 plate appearances with the Cannon Ballers, the biggest contributor to the Carolina League's top-scoring offense. He was also repeating the level after getting 123 plate appearances with Kannapolis after the White Sox selected him in the 13th round of the 2023 draft, and he turns 24 later this month, so this promotion had been a while in the making.
Josimar Cousin will be heading to Charlotte, according to Francys Romero. Cousin, who had been removed from the 40-man roster in April, has pitched himself back into consideration with 15 strikeouts against just eight baserunners (six hits, two walks) over 10 innings with the Barons. Just like Adisyn Coffey before him, he'll be a test for whether he's benefited from the highly controlled environment in Birmingham,
