The White Sox's trade deadline activity brought in a fresh crop of minor leaguers, which prompted some further roster shuffling.

Charlotte: Along with the previously reported promotion of Tim Elko, the Knights also officially added left-handed reliever Trey McGough, whom the Sox received from the Orioles in the Eloy Jiménez trade.

Winston-Salem: The Dash have two new second basemen who flex elsewhere. Rikuu Nishida received his long-gestating promotion to High-A. He hit .290/.415/.367 with 84 runs scored in 90 games while splitting time between left field and second base. He made his Winston-Salem debut at second. He'll be joined by William Bergolla, whom the Sox acquired from the Phillies in the Tanner Banks trade. He's made 53 starts at second and 11 at short. Also, 24-year-old starter Jake Bockenstedt is now in the Dash rotation after 15 so-so starts at Kannapolis. That news is more about the guy he's replacing.

Kannapolis: The Cannon Ballers will get right-handed reliever Jarold Rosario after acquiring him from Kansas City for Paul DeJong, but they'll also see Tanner McDougal again. McDougal had a 6.85 ERA over 65⅔ innings for Winston-Salem, and that number was inflated by his last seven starts, over which opponents had hit .293/.444/.636. Between McDougal's demotion and Peyton Pallette's reassignment to the bullpen, their journeys back from Tommy John surgery haven't been what they imagined.
