White Sox Roster News

The White Sox are giving right-hander reliever Enyel De Los Santos a shot out of the bullpen despite recently beating him up for seven runs off eight hits on August 12. It wasn’t a great time with the New York Yankees for De Los Santos, who allowed 10 ER in 6.1 innings, but he was decent with the San Diego Padres in 44 appearances, posting a 4.46 ERA in 40.1 innings. Matt Foster returns to Charlotte, where he returned to the majors last Friday against Houston, tossing a scoreless inning. It was Foster’s first appearance in the majors since 2022.

Pregame Notes

  • Since 2003, the Chicago White Sox are an amazing 7-1 at San Francisco. That one loss was back on August 13, 2014 when the Giants won 7-1 thanks to a strong outing from old friend Jake Peavy and uncertainty about the new plate blocking rules for catchers.
  • Last White Sox visit to San Francisco was in 2022 when they swept the Giants in three games.
  • Only Nick Senzel on the White Sox has faced Giants LHP Kyle Harrison before. Senzel is a career 0-for-3 with one strikeout against Harrison.
  • Mark Canha is the only Giants hitter to face White Sox RHP Jonathan Cannon (0-for-1).
