Travel Advice from Sweden to Chicago

The Dan Ryan Expressway

(Sox Machine photo)

I know the timing of this post is hilarious, but the Olssons are coming to Chicago in early June next year for the Royals series (if I read the schedule correctly). One would think I could have planned this differently but it's part of a bigger Texas trip planned and saved for since -17 in which I have promised the boys we would stop in Chicago for some White Sox baseball.

Funny enough, they play Astros in the next series so I'll probably catch them in Houston too, for my oldest's 12th birthday.

Anyhow, I've only spent about an hour in Chicago before, excluding time spent at airports, so I need some advice. Both about the series itself (Fri-Sun 6-8 June) and what to during therest of the day.

We'll arrive the day before, and will fly to Houston on Monday after the series, so the whole detour is centered around baseball but will probably only have me visit the Friday game since it will be an evening game, and then bring the family on either Saturday or Sunday (depending on if the Saturday game is day or evening). The kids will never make through more than one game so they need to stay occupied elsewhere while I'm gone.

The idea is to sit in different locations during the three games, so advice there would be great. Also have the idea to find a hotel along the Red Line to calm my wife's nerves about traveling in foreign places (we got separated once in the Paris metro, not a fun experience), and I've been looking at few fairly expensive ones (5-600/night) as this is once in a lifetime thing.

Anything you can help with to guide me in the right direction would be appreciated! I would also like to meet as many of you as possible!
