With the White Sox parting ways with Marco Paddy and searching for a new scouting director, it makes sense to take inventory of the mark he left on the White Sox system.
The White Sox have a number of international prospects in their top 30, but most were acquired in trades. Samuel Zavala and Jairo Iriarte came over in the Dylan Cease trade, Aldrin Batista for international money, and Jeral Perez and Alexander Albertus in the three-way deal at this year's deadline.
Paddy's contributions peaked after the 2022 season, when Oscar Colás, Bryan Ramos, Cristian Mena, Norge Vera, José Rodríguez and Lenyn Sosa comprised more than half of the White Sox's top 10 prospect list. None of those players have stuck on MLB rosters, and Ramos is the only one who's come close to value, although the infusion of talent from outside the system has pushed him further down the list.
Now, Ramos is the only player who made the updated top 30 White Sox prospect lists from either Baseball America or MLB.com.
