The White Sox, playing their third consecutive game with an earlier start time than the day before, still had enough time to make three roster moves.
While Chase Meidroth was able to make a late-game appearance Sunday afternoon, he still couldn't stave off a trip to the injured list for right thumb inflammation. Bobby Dalbec will be taking his place on the 26-man roster, and to open a spot on the 40-man for Dalbec, the White Sox shifted Martín Pérez to the 60-day injured list.
Dalbec had a forgettable spring and a quieter start to his season in Charlotte, opening the Triple-A schedule by going 3-for-19 with 10 strikeouts. He then flipped the switch, as he joins the White Sox hitting .444/.464/.963 with three homers and just six strikeouts over his last 28 plate appearances. He's also rotated through all four corner positions, and while he hasn't played any shortstop this year, he did make nine appearances there for Triple-A Worcester in 2024. Brandon Drury has yet to play a defensive position since returning to the organization, so Dalbec provides greater depth chart coverage right now.
