Sporcle Saturday: Second base and shortstop since 2017

Good morning!

As MLB and the MLBPA march ever onward towards an inevitable CBA agreement (whenever that should happen), so too do we continue our positional march of players fielding various positions since 2017. This week: second base and shortstop.

Much like the corner infield positions, the middle infield positions have had a decent amount of stability over the past several years. While the names aren't always necessarily sexy, there is quite a bit of overlap in who is listed.

Time will tell what the White Sox choose to do with second base next season, but it's a sure bet that some of the guys contained within today's Sporcle will be making appearances again. To that end, today's Sporcle contains 47 entries: how many can you name? Good luck!

Quiz Parameters

    • I've allotted 10 minutes for completion attempts.
    • For hints, I've provided the year, position of the player, and number of innings fielding said position.

Useless information to amaze, annoy, confuse, and/or confound your friends and family:

    • Since 2017, the highest WAR accumulated at second base is 7.5, while the lowest is -0.7...all accumulated during the 2021 campaign. Yikes.
    • At shortstop, no surprises there: 14.6 WAR accumulated on the high end, with a low of -0.4.
