FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
On March 31, 2022, Sox Machine, LLC and FutureSox struck a new partnership that will merge the two sites under Sox Machine. Two of the longest-running Chicago White Sox blogs will work together and continue providing outstanding coverage involving all aspects of the franchise.
Under this agreement, FutureSox’s new web home can be found at soxmachine.com/futuresox (or futuresox.com). All White Sox farm system, MLB draft and international signings coverage will live on that page. The FutureSox podcast will migrate under the Sox Machine umbrella and join the Blue Wire Podcast Network.
FutureSox Editor-in-Chief Mike Rankin and Senior Editor James Fox will continue to lead the site’s efforts as part of Sox Machine. A producer of the Dan Bernstein Show on 670 the Score, Rankin will coordinate White Sox prospect coverage and host a weekly podcast that will be released on Tuesdays. You will also hear him contributing to the Sox Machine Podcast during the season.
Formerly with SI Now and SB Nation’s South Side Sox, Fox will join Rankin on the FutureSox podcast and contribute White Sox content to Sox Machine. He and Josh Nelson will expand Sox Machine’s current MLB draft coverage that will now live on FutureSox.
This partnership was made possible by two parties in particular. First is Jason Gage, who started FutureSox in 2003. Sox Machine looks forward to celebrating FutureSox’s 20th anniversary in May of 2023 with a special event.
Sox Machine’s growing Patreon community created the opportunity to expand Sox Machine’s offerings by its generous support despite the uncertainty generated by the COVID-19 pandemic and MLB lockout.
With the Charlotte Knights opening their schedule on Tuesday, followed by Opening Day for the White Sox and the other three affiliates on Friday, Sox Machine and FutureSox’s comprehensive, top-to-bottom coverage of the Chicago White Sox organization starts immediately.
