Good morning!
While Jose Abreu may be having a bit of a down year in the home run department, he still leads the team in virtually every other category: hits, runs, RBI, extra-base hits, walks, average...you name it and he's the likely answer offensively, other than stolen bases and triples (0). And anyway, it's not like the Sox have a player setting the world on fire in that department (Josh Harrison leads the team with...2).
While Abreu has been an offensive constant throughout his White Sox tenure, one category in particular he excels at? Total bases. Through Thursday, Abreu leads the team with 249 total bases while the next-highest total is Andrew Vaughn with 211. Do you know the last time Abreu didn't lead the team in total bases? When he hadn't yet played in MLB: 2013, Alejandro De Aza recorded 246 total bases.
Since 2014, Abreu has logged at least 300 total bases in a season four times (it seems unlikely he'll get there this year, unfortunately) and is now 7th all-time in franchise history with 2,490. So today, we celebrate Abreu’s total base accomplishments by examining the other great seasons in White Sox history. Specifically: I’m asking you to name all the White Sox players who have logged at least 300 total bases in a single season. That’s 35 entries: how many can you get? Good luck!
