Sporcle Saturday: Goodbye, Pedro

Good morning!

Well, it happened. In the end, the only votes for Pedro were ones of no confidence: he leaves the White Sox organization with the worst winning percentage of any manager in franchise history, and also what turned out to be a pretty awful record of successful replay challenges.

White Sox fandom turns its lonely eyes towards interim manager Grady Sizemore, who, when he finishes out the season, will also qualify for this week's quiz. Today’s Sporcle is about managers throughout franchise history who managed at least 50 games for the White Sox. In all that’s 36 entries: how many can you name? Good luck!

Quiz Parameters

  • I’ve allotted 15 minutes for completion attempts.
  • For hints, I’ve provided the tenure, and the winning percentage of the manager.

Useless information to amaze, annoy, confuse, and/or confound your friends and family:

  • Three guys not on this list with single-digit managerial stints: Doug Rader (1986, 2 games), Don Cooper (2011, 2 games), Ed Walsh (1924, 3 games).
  • 10 guys who have managed the White Sox have Hall of Fame credentials in one form or another. Barring a hilariously unlikely successful second act, I suspect Pedro Grifol will not be the eleventh.
