Good morning!
On Friday morning's podcast, the fellas spent a bit of time discussing the woeful state of the White Sox offense. Entering the Friday evening game against the Detroit Tigers, no White Sox regular is sporting an OPS which begins with a "7". Closest is Luis Robert, Jr. (.694) and Andrew Vaughn (.690). Not great! By OPS+, things aren't too rosy, either: Robert, Jr., Vaughn, and Gavin Sheets (!?) are the only guys sitting in the 90s (94, 94, and 95, respectively). Everybody else (among the starters) is in the 50-70 range for OPS+.
And it was those low OPS-pluses which are the inspiration for today's quiz. Andrew Benintendi, Nicky Lopez, and Korey Lee all will or are about to cross the threshold of 400 PAs on the season and they all have an OPS+ of 75 or lower. That's what this week's Sporcle is all about: which players in franchise history logged at least 400 PAs on the season and also managed an OPS+ of 75 or below? In all that's 91 names: how many can you get? Good luck!
