First Pitch: White Sox at Red Sox

(James Fegan/Sox Machine)

Boston fans are known to be an engaged lot, so surely they're aware of the potential for history Sunday, as the White Sox have the opportunity to extend the longest team losing streak (20) for a starting pitcher in MLB history. The Brewers losing 19-straight Chris Capuano starts was left behind last week, and only immortality lies ahead.

The Red Sox designated former top-100 prospect Bobby Dalbec for assignment to make room for starting pitcher Richard Fitts' major league debut. But we have a plus-power, high-strikeout 25-year-old first base prospect at home!

--Korey Lee returns to the lineup after missing two days with a back issue.

--DeLoach is making his second start in the leadoff spot in his eight start of the season. The last time he led off was also against the Red Sox.

--Grady Sizemore was asked about not playing Bryan Ramos during pregame. The answer was not clarifying.

"It’s tough," Sizemore told reporters in Boston. "Primarily he’s most comfortable at third. I don’t think he’s played a lot of second. They kind of introduced outfield to him and I don’t know how comfortable he is there, I don’t want to just throw him out there. Try to maybe work [Miguel Vargas] and Ramos together at third and maybe get some DH days for him as well. These last 20 games or so, try to get some of the younger guys as many looks as I can, and get some of the veteran guys days off. But it’s going to be tough trying to find spots for everybody."
