The Kannapolis outfield shakeup continued on Sunday, albeit for a far better reason than injured list stints and Tommy John surgery: The White Sox promoted Braden Montgomery to Winston-Salem.
Montgomery showed what he needed to show over his first 19 professional games and 84 plate appearances with the Cannon Ballers, hitting .304/.393/.493 with three homers, four doubles, six stolen bases in eight attempts, and 10 walks to 19 strikeouts. The strikeout rate is a maybe a touch higher than you'd like to see from a 12th-overall pick out of the SEC, but producing around those strikeouts wasn't much of a problem, so the feedback will probably be a lot more useful in the South Atlantic League.
