Dominic Fletcher

The White Sox farm system opened four fresh series on Tuesday, and most of the affiliates wasted no time generating news of note:

Charlotte: Dominic Fletcher overwrote an 0-for-5, four-strikeout start to his evening with a walk-off two-run shot in the 11th.

Winston-Salem: Braden Montgomery hit his first two High-A homers, and Jesse Scholtens, who last appeared in a game in September 2023 due to Tommy John surgery the following spring, started for Winston-Salem. He's been on the 60-day IL the last two seasons.

Kannapolis: George Wolkow got ejected in the ninth inning with some choice words for the first-base umpire after a bang-bang play at the bag on a potential E-6, and Abraham Nuñez was ejected after striking out looking to end the game.

Wolkow, who is a terrifying figure when angry, might've been wrong to snap, because while he would've been clearly safe if he caught the front of the bag with his toe, his heel-first landing appeared to come after the ball entered the mitt. Nuñez's ejection, on a full-count pitch the catcher brought back over the plate, was far more #umpshowy.

ACL White Sox: Colson Montgomery is appearing in rookie-ball games as part of his in-season reset, and while he's just 1-for-8 with a walk thus far, he did avoid striking out in a game for the first time all season on Monday.
